Not Just an End of Year Party in Odori Park
Although is was a cold snowy night, amidst the vibrant lights and energy of the Countdown Party in Odori Park, a small group of people gathered for the New Year’s party. Each one brought with them not just their excitement for the upcoming year, but also unique cultural backgrounds and perspectives. As the countdown to midnight began, so did the plans for next year as well.
Among the crowd
There was a sense of unity that transcended language barriers and nationalities. Strangers becoming friends, bonding over shared experiences and mutual interests. Conversations flowing effortlessly, fueled by curiosity and a genuine desire to connect.
Midnight
As the TV Tower clock struck midnight, those gathered in Odori Park reflected on the journey that had brought them together. They were no longer just celebrating the arrival of a new year and the countdown party but making new friends with members of the public and international community.
At the after party
We raised our glasses to toast to the future and many more parties. For many of us in this vibrant tapestry of cultures and identities, we have found not just a community, but a family in a way.
Over the weeks that follow
We will have language exchange sessions, do cultural workshops, and social gatherings. Hopefully they will become a regular occurrence, as they draw participants from far and wide.
Bond forming friendships are blossoming, and barriers are dissolving, paving the way for more inclusive and connected events.
Future goals
Create a platform where people from anywhere can come together to learn, grow and network with people with similar interests.
